The prosperity of Tuscany is due to the wool and silk production that flourished there from the 13th century onwards. The Tuscan environment with its incredible colours and the beauty of the landscape must have contributed to the enormous creativity of the fashion industry that emerged from it. And that still exists today. So we thought: if you really want to experience the inspiring, creative and enchanting of Tuscany, go back to its origins.
"An experience every time" is what some loyal visitors of the Punto Arte Festival told us. And then we are not only talking about how enchanting Palagione is or how the originality of Mazzolla with Giuseppe's real Tuscan dishes makes time stand still, but also about the beauty of Volterra. People are still talking passionately about the singers running through the garden in Palagione at “Midsummernightsdream”, the Fiat 500 that faithfully makes Haydn's "Lo Speziale" a success or the spaghetti that was hung out to dry at "Don Pasquale", the great Festival Orchestra etc etc. And so we are already going to our sixth festival.
This year (partly thanks to extra support from true friends of the festival) we have a wonderful Television evening in prospect in the gardens of Palagione. Or am I actually saying too much already? But with "La Scale die Seta” composed by one of the greatest Italian opera composers Giacchino Rossini, Eva takes another step forward in her sensational productions. And what “silk” and love can have in common becomes completely clear in this masterpiece! Of course, heartwarmingly performed by the Festival Orchestra conducted by Jan Willem. Afterwards, Erik will be ready with his double bass. And Jörgen's students will be there again.
